DEUFOL sponsors the Belgian Innoptus Solar Team, a team of engineering students who are building a 100% solar-powered car to compete in international races worldwide. The Innoptus Solar Team is a project of the Catholic University of Leuven. The team is currently world champion. It won the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in 2023!
What is the goal of the Innoptus Solar Team?
The project aims to demonstrate the strengths of renewable energy and the latest technologies. It also proves that sustainable mobility is possible, partly through the use of the latest technologies and a good dash of perseverance.
Every 2 years, the team of engineering students takes up the challenge to design and produce a solar car. A solar car powered only by solar energy with which they participate in international races worldwide. They are currently world champion!

DEUFOL supplies the transport packaging for the car and all its accessories. This includes the packaging and documentation for the export of the hazardous goods.
The team takes part in international races all over the world. Therefore, it is important that the valuable and fragile car, as well as all its accessories, appear at the starting line on time and in perfect condition.
Transport packaging that is easy to transport and handle. Which is sufficiently robust and protects the material during transport, storage and handling. And that can be reused.
DEUFOL supplies the appropriate transport packaging for the racecar and accessories.
We provide them with the necessary markings, locks and inspection openings to allow correct and smooth handling.
The wooden export packaging conforms to ISPM 15 so that worldwide export is not an issue.
We also provide the right export packaging and documentation for the transport of dangerous goods.
By air freight, sea freight or road transport.
DEUFOL also takes care of the packaging of the racing car and its accessories.
Of course, our packers are also present when the car and the equipment are packed.
The car and all its accessories are professionally packed and secured.
The Solar Team students learn how to unpack the car at its destination … and then secure and pack it again.

DEUFOL provides the Innoptus Solar team with a super-equipped shipping container
We are also broadening our contribution: we are providing a 40 ft. High Cube sea container. So that the team can
travel around the world in a professional manner. The shipping container is equipped on the inside by ACB Containers so that the team can use it as a mobile workshop during the races.
The container was equipped with a smart solution for renewable energy supply in 2024: A PV system on the roof of the container. This way, the team generates its own renewable electricity it needs.
DEUFOL designed and supplied the reusable transport box to safely store and transport the solar panels when they are not mounted on the container.
The sturdy box fully protects the solar panels, is easy to open and handle, and is reusable for years to come.
